Hiroko Nagatomo was born in Miyazaki, Japan. Hiroko's interest in painting began at the age of three, and by the age of ten, she had set her sights on becoming a professional artist. Her parents supported her interest in painting throughout her childhood, contributing to its development into a passion. In an environment where her parents provided her with the autonomy to pursue her artistic interests at her own pace, she was able to develop her unique creative style. Hiroko pursued her interest in color by earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Oil Painting from Musashino Art University in Tokyo. Her interest and style continued to evolve in "Bokusho," in which the artist expressed her impression solely with Chinese ink (Sumi) without using color. Her pursuit of artistic expression has expanded beyond the traditional canvas to encompass art installations and performing arts. Hiroko resides in Seattle, Washington.

長友 裕子（ながともひろこ）

3 歳から絵を描くことに興味を持ち始め、10 歳の時に画家になると宣言した。中学校の美術教師であった母親と、

同じく中学校の国語教師・書道家であった父親共々、画家になるという願いを温かく育み、いつでも自由にアート制作や墨を擦り書いて遊ぶ環境を与えてくれていた。美術の分野に進み、美術大学では色によってキャンバスの中を旅する楽しさを油絵で追求した。28 歳で書の師、長井恵州( 独立書) と出会い、線の持つしなやかさと強さを墨で表現する墨象（墨による抽象表現）へと表現の幅を拡げ、さらに、平面だけではなく立体表現・身体表現へとより自由にアートの可能性を見出し、制作している。母親の勤務先であった障がいのある子ども達の学校へ幼い頃から行き親しんだことが、現在の制作の基底であり、アートを通して長い間障がいのある方々と活動を共にしてきた。武蔵野美術大学。宮崎市出身。シアトル在住。
